This work is based on a personal story:
The neighborhood where I live and grew up in has an image of wealthy, posh, extravagant people. Growing up, I was always judged based on that image, sort of a prejudice about me that I always had to address.
This series of photos is about fake appearances. The compositions are taken from specific Instagram posts, with the people replaced with the Barbie doll, representing the "perfect" image. The bold colors are intended to create a strong emotional response.
